    Welsh Springer Spaniel Dogs can make good pets in Solomon Islands if they match your IifestyIe. The Welsh Springer Spaniel, or Welshie, is a cheerful, solid dog. Welshies are more reserved than English Springer Spaniels. Welshies need to be with people, and should be socialized from an early age. Welshies are usually okay with other pets with whom they are socialized. Welshies are wonderful with children. A Welshie can live in an apartment but needs a lot of exercise and does best with a fenced yard.

Welsh Cockers, which were probably ancestors of Welsh Springer Spaniels, are mentioned in a number of old Welsh texts. Welsh Springer Spaniels were recognized by the AKC in 1906.
